Detroit, MI -- The Sunbridge International Collaborative is a non-profit organization providing a path to individual independence through experiential learning that converges with a community environment and guides students through the developmental pathways of work towards meaningful self-development and lasting independence.
Young people want to learn and want to work in a different kind of way - while making an impact in the world. Our collaborative provides experiential, project based learning — modern modalities of learning desired by our youth participants.
We engage with Groups of Community Youth Participants in a work program that aims to benefit the individual self-development and impact their surrounding environment.
Here in Brightmoor Detroit at the Brightmoor Makerspace, where we work with young people out of Detroit Community Schools and Brightmoor/Cody-Rouge Neighborhoods in the follow areas of focus:
Vision into Action (2018 Film)
Filmed in Detroit's Brightmoor neighborhood during late summer of 2018 at the Detroit Community School, the story documents the student, post-graduate and instructor perspectives and culminates with the introduction of the Brightmoor Makerspace -- a fully functional, hands-on environment whereby students pursue their own entrepreneurial spirit and independence through the development of finished products designed with purpose.
